We are so grateful and proud to be a provider of very affordable production insurance to the film, movie, and entertainment industry in California. We have insured a wide variety of film, movie, and entertainment productions throughout the state, and are quite familiar with providing the proper evidence of insurance to the variety of film, city, and state entities.
The film industry plays a key role in the economy and drives a huge network of individuals, vendors, artists, creators, producers, and visionaries together to create the images and tell the stories that compose the very fabric of our culture. California has incredible resources, in terms of locations and talent, that span an incredibly diverse geographical and cultural area.

California film insurance
We support the “Indie” and provide the same level of service to each account, whether we are quoting insurance for a student project or a large feature. Short term production insurance as well as annual DICE policies are available.
As-Of: June 2026 | Tax Credit: 35-50% refundable (Program 4.0)
California’s Film and Television Tax Credit Program 4.0 increased the base credit to 35% (up from 20-25%), with nearly doubled annual allocation to $750 million—the highest cap of any state. Credits are refundable and include uplifts for out-of-zone filming and local crew. California offers unmatched infrastructure: world-class crews, equipment rental options, established post-production facilities, and studio access. CRITICAL LIMITATION: Program 4.0 explicitly excludes commercial productions. If producing commercials, you don’t qualify regardless of budget. For feature films, TV series, pilots, and independent films, California offers the nation’s most generous incentive structure combined with unparalleled production resources. However, California remains expensive—crew, equipment, and services cost substantially more than regional alternatives. The incentive can offset premium pricing for large-budget productions. Applications require pre-certification. The program is highly competitive given generous allocation.
Reference Dates: All information current as of June 2026. Film tax incentive programs change regularly. Verify current program details and funding availability with each state film office before finalizing location decisions. Please do your own research.
