Texas offers 25% transferable and partially refundable tax credit on qualified in-state production expenses for all production types. Production costs vary by region but are generally moderate-to-low. Austin, Dallas, and Houston all have established film infrastructure. The combination of 25% credits and Texas’s vast location diversity makes the state practical for many production types. For major productions and television with Texas location requirements, the combination of credits and location diversity offers strong value.
