NEBRASKA Tax Credits

As-Of: June 2026 | Tax Credit: 15-25% cash rebate (tiered)

Nebraska offers tiered cash rebate ranging from 15-25% on qualified in-state production expenses, with rates increasing based on spending levels. The rebate is direct cash reimbursement without complications of credit transfer or monetization. Nebraska requires pre-certification and maintains annual funding allocations. Nebraska’s locations include Omaha’s urban setting, rural agricultural landscapes, the Platte River, and Great Plains character appropriate for various production types. Production costs are among the lowest nationally, making the state economically attractive at moderate incentive rates. The combination of 15-25% rebates and exceptionally low production costs creates competitive economics for independent films and small-to-mid-budget productions. Local crew infrastructure is developing in Omaha with emerging equipment rental facilities. A 25% rebate on a $300K Nebraska budget ($75K return) often provides equivalent cash value to higher percentages in expensive states. For Midwest productions, Great Plains settings, or independent films seeking cost efficiency, Nebraska’s tiered rebate combined with low costs creates strong value.
