South Carolina’s locations include Charleston’s distinctive historic architecture and Southern charm (internationally recognized), Beaufort’s period-appropriate settings, coastal areas, and diverse landscapes. The state has become particularly popular for period pieces and southern-set narratives. Production costs are moderate-to-low. The state has developed film infrastructure supporting major productions, with soundstages, equipment rental facilities, and established crew base, particularly in Charleston.
