As-Of: June 2026 | Tax Credit: 15-25% transferable (tiered)
New Hampshire offers tiered transferable tax credit ranging from 15-25% on qualified in-state production expenses, with rates based on production type and spending levels. The transferable structure requires monetization through sale to New Hampshire businesses at typical broker rates of 85-92 cents on the dollar. New Hampshire requires pre-certification and maintains annual funding allocations. New Hampshire’s location diversity includes New England character and architecture, natural landscapes (lakes, mountains, forests), historic sites, and seasonal variety particularly compelling for fall foliage content. Production costs are moderate compared to other New England states. The state has developing film crew infrastructure, particularly in Manchester and surrounding areas. Equipment rental facilities are emerging. The combination of 15-25% transferable credits and New England locations makes New Hampshire practical for productions with Northeast location requirements. The tiered structure rewards higher spending. For East Coast productions with New Hampshire location needs, the tiered incentive structure offers reasonable value combined with location character.
